"We have had the opportunity to work with the Carter family for the past 15 years, supplying them with quality seed stock Angus cattle. It is our privilege to work with the Carters on an annual basis. Their overall knowledge of cattle, attention to detail, cowherd management, and herd health is second to none. This cowherd is built on functional Angus cattle with added length and frame allowing their progeny to excel in feedlots and packing plants. The females are coming from a closed breeding program and are backed by generations of consistency and predictability. The term “good enough” doesn’t exist at the Carter ranch. It takes vision, dedication, and commitment to assemble the quality cowherd that Russ and Tamara, at Carter Cattle Company have created. We, at Fleury Cattle Company recommend taking the time to tour the Carter ranch. If you are in the market for superior commercial Angus replacement cattle to take your cowherd to the next level we highly recommend Carter Cattle Company."

"Over 10 years ago we had a meal with extended family and enjoyed steaks that were the best we had ever tasted; we asked where they were from. We learned that the delicious beef was raised on a family farm nearby, Russ and Tamara Carter, of Carter Cattle Company. Even our kids could taste the difference when they were only 10 years old! Since that day we have eaten Carter beef exclusively. The Carter family is exceptional to deal with – an honest and hard working family, raising fantastic, sustainable beef with a commitment to the environment and animal welfare. Congratulations on a job well done and we hope to be buying your product for many years to come!"

Cattle are out year-round grazing native grasslands that are home to wildlife, birds, insects, native bees, and plant species. This symbiotic relationship creates a sustainable balance between wildlife, livestock, birds and plants. Cattle fertilize the soils with their manure and urine. Organic matter increases, which means better water holding capacity and soil health. Healthy soils are the foundation for healthy pastures, crops and livestock. Cattle thrive on these nutritious forages, which play a vital role in carbon sequestration. Endangered species and species at risk, such as burrowing owls, swift fox and whooping cranes are among some of the animals that find refuge at our ranch.
Starting calves out right with strong mothers, low stress handling and a superior nutritional plane ensures profitable heifers with longevity, reproductive efficiency and gentle temperaments. Our genetics and nutrition program produces mother cows that consistently rebreed and stay in our herd for up to twenty years, raising a healthy calf annually. Steers and heifers are developed slowly on native grasses, creating a solid foundation for their nutritional health and immune function, as well as their temperament.
With over 100 years of farming and ranching on these lands, our family knows every nook and cranny. We feel a deep and powerful connection to this land. It has sustained our family for generations before us, and we want to ensure it will continue to for our children and grandchildren.
